Botanical Name : Daucus carota

Annual / Perennial : biennial plant , the carrot taproot is harvested for eating in the first year.
Habitat : native to Europe and southwestern Asia.
Mature Height : about 1m in the second year. Less that 30 cms when ready for cropping in the first year.

Growing : It is grown from seed and thrives in a cool climate and can be sown in temperate climes in early spring.
